Martin Luther King, Jr.

In celebration of the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., here are a few links to some of his better known speeches. These links include audio recordings of the speeches and are definately worth listining to.

"I Have a Dream"

delivered 28 August 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D.C.

"With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day."

Beyond Vietnam -- A Time to Break Silence
delivered 4 April 1967
at a meeting of Clergy and Laity Concerned at Riverside Church in New York City

"The truth of these words is beyond doubt, but the mission to which they call us is a most difficult one. Even when pressed by the demands of inner truth, men do not easily assume the task of opposing their government's policy, especially in time of war. Nor does the human spirit move without great difficulty against all the apathy of conformist thought within one's own bosom and in the surrounding world. Moreover, when the issues at hand seem as perplexed as they often do in the case of this dreadful conflict, we are always on the verge of being mesmerized by uncertainty; but we must move on."

Photos

I recently bought a scanner and have been scanning many, many old slides. Some old family photos, some from trips I have taken. Others are just random photos. I thought this would be a good place to post them and share them with friends who have never seen many, or any of these before. Hope you like them.
